It was our annual All School Activity Day at SCC Middle School! Students and staff enjoyed a day of bowling and a movie, Action City, Trollhaugen, ice fishing, or a variety of different activities at school. Here are just a few pictures that captured the excitement of the day!
Do you have a fun and interesting career? We are looking for volunteers to join us at our annual 8th Grade Career Day on Friday, February 14th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Volunteers will present to small groups of 8th graders for four sessions, each session will be 20 minutes long. Volunteers are asked to share about their career journey - how did you pick your career, what training and/or education is required, what skills do you use in your career, a day in the life of your career, and advice for 8th graders as they start to explore different careers.

National School Counseling Week is February 3rd-7th, 2025. The theme for this year is: School Counseling: Helping Students Thrive. Our school counselors truly help our students thrive by helping them achieve student success and plan for their future careers. 5th graders celebrated their hard work in Literacy class! What better way to celebrate than building forts and reading by flashlights! Great work students!

Every year in 8th grade language arts, our students are tasked with writing an essay sponsored by the VFW called the Patriot's Pen. This is a competitive essay that requires students to compare American history to our present day America while focusing on the annual patriotic theme. This year's theme was, "My Voice in America's Democracy."
This year, not one or two but three 8th grade students from SCC were the top three winners at the local level and one students was received a second place award at the district level among 396 other essays. To say we're proud of our students and staff at SCC is an understatement! Incredible work to these three students: Adalynn Brown, Brinlee Miller, and Scott Svacina! Scott was also awarded 2nd place at the district level.

Students at the middle school went sledding at the park for Club Day on Friday after school. Students sure had a fun time enjoying the weather after the frigid start to the week!
8th Grade students participated in the St. Croix Valley Music Educators Association (SCVMEA) Honors Band & Choir concerts on Saturday at River Falls High School. Great job to those who participated!
Athletics on January 27th
It was a great end to a great week at SCC Middle School! It was Club Day! The last 70 minutes of the school day included clubs such as but not limited to knitting/crocheting, Dungeons and Dragons, art, bracelet making, BINGO, basketball, sledding, 9-square, and Just Dance. Fun!
Athletics on January 24th & 25th
SCC 5th graders enjoyed a visit from the St. Croix Ojibwe tribe, where they got to learn about the language, naming ceremonies, spear fishing, drums pow wow regalia, and more! A thoughtful day of cultural awareness for all!
Middle school students had their turn to sample Elotes corn during lunch today and it was a hit! Students will notice it showing it showing up as a menu item on school menus starting in February!!
