FBLA 2021

FBLA STATE 2021...

On Monday, April 12th, ten SCC High School students participated in this year’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Virtual Leadership Conference. Around 2,000 students attended the virtual conference, each with the goal of making it to national competition which will be virtual this year but would have been held in Anaheim, CA. Besides competing, students attended leadership workshops, listened to industry speakers, and virtually networked with other students from across the state.

SCC students competed in various business-related exams like Cyber Security and Personal Finance, which required taking a 100 question test, while other students prepared business-related projects like Publication Design, Digital Video Production or E-Business Websites.  There were also several speaking events like Broadcast Journalism and Sales Demonstration for students to compete in.

For each event, the top four places qualify an individual or team for Nationals. For SCC,  Wyatt Turbeville placed 3rd in Cyber Security and Ella Fern placed 4th in Digital Video Production.

Josh Harvey and Claire Pommier were also recognized at State. Harvey placed 5th in E-Business, and Pommier took 9th in Personal Finance.

The two students who qualified for nationals have the opportunity to compete virtually in June against students from all 50 states. If you have any questions regarding FBLA or would be interested in supporting the FBLA students as they advance to the national competition, please contact Mrs. Crowley at (715)796-5383 or tcrowley@scc.k12.wi.us.
