ST. CROIX CENTRAL SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM

St. Croix Central Summer School provides opportunities for enrichment, enjoyment, recreation, and improvement for every child. This year we will be offering activity-based courses during our June session, swimming lessons during our July session, and academic interventions during our August session.

The schedule for the 2023 Summer School Program will be as follows:

  • June Session: June 5-8, 12-15, 19-22, June 26-29 (8:30-11:45 a.m.)

  • July Swimming Lessons: July 17-21, July 24-28 (9:30-11:20 a.m.)

  • August Session - Academic Interventions/Invite Only: July 31-August 3, August 7-10 (8:30-11:45 a.m.)

Recommended Student Supply List for the June Summer School session:

  • Pencil box with pencils, crayons, glue, scissors, and any other basic supplies they might want

  • Water bottle

  • Daily snack(s)

  • Sunscreen should be applied at home if necessary

**Please be 5-10 minutes early for the bus. If you are not on time, you will need to provide alternative transportation.

**Kids CARE is available for students Kindergarten through 4th grade (based on 2023-2024 school year).  Kids CARE is offered
before and after all summer school classes.

**Due to Summer School Staffing, students cannot be dropped off earlier than 8:00 a.m. or picked up later than 11:45 a.m.
Children arriving to the elementary before 8:00 a.m. or not picked up by 11:45 a.m. will be placed in Kids CARE and will be a charged a fee. In addition, there will be no staff or supervision at the middle school until 8:00 a.m., so please be respectful of the school start/end times. Thank you!

**The YMCA/Teen Center is available for students 5th through 8th grade (based on 2023-2024 school year), and is offered after all summer school classes in June.

JUNE SESSION: Information is for the grade level your child(ren) will be enrolled in for the 2023-2024 school year.

KINDERGARTEN:

GRADES 1-8:

  • Grades 1-8 Information Letter: This parent letter is an overview of Summer School for children entering first through eighth
    grade

  • Grades 1-8 Course Descriptions: This is a document with brief descriptions of each "exploring class" offered this summer

  • Grades 1-8 'Class Offerings': This is a condensed form showing class schedules and time slots for each building

    • NOTE: We will again offer a section of "Bigger, Faster, Stronger" at the Middle School from 6:45-8:00 a.m. each
      morning in June.

  • K-4 Week Prior Parent Reminder Letter: This letter has a few reminders as Summer School draws near.

  • 5-8 Week Prior Parent Reminder Letter: This letter has a few reminders as Summer School draws near.

JUNE SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION

Registration will open on Friday, April 21st at 9:00 a.m. and run through Friday, April 28th at 3:00 p.m.

JULY SWIMMING LESSONS REGISTRATION

Registration will open Friday, April 21st at 9:00 a.m. and close on Friday, May 26th at 3:00 p.m.

Swimming lessons for students entering grades 1-8 will be offered in Ellsworth this summer. All sessions will run Monday through Friday, July 17-21 and July 24-28. There will be three sessions between 9:30-11:20 a.m.

Class Times (at The Klaas-Jonas Community Pool in Ellsworth)

  • Session 1: 9:30-10:00

  • Session 2: 10:10-10:40

  • Session 3: 10:50-11:20

Food
Students may bring a snack. It must be in a clearly marked bag/container. It will be stored in a communal area.

Supplies

  • Towel

  • Street shoes/tennis shoes (must be worn if students are busing, no sandals/flip-flops allowed in the play areas)

  • Bathing suit under his/her clothing
