We are excited to announce that due to an exceptionally high level of good behavior among our high school students, we will be taking freshman, sophomores and seniors on a Winter Fun Day, Wednesday, February 20, 2019. We are also hoping this helps ensure an optimal testing environment for our junior students, as they will be taking the ACT that same day at the high school. This year, three options exist and an additional option for seniors. These options, and any associated costs or needs, include:
1. Mall of America
*Money needed for lunch/other OR students may bring their own meal/snacks
2. Afton Alps
*$26/lift ticket *$23/ ski or snowboard rental (includes helmet)
*Additional money is needed for food/snacks OR students may bring their own
*Please pay fees in advance to the counseling office by cash or check (payable to SCC); rental forms are available in the counseling office
3. Ice Fishing
*students may use provided gear or bring their own
*bait will be provided
*grilled out lunch provided OR students may bring their own lunch/snacks
4. Curling (Senior only option)
*$10 and parents must sign a waiver
* Please pay fee in advance to Mr. Kimberly; waiver forms are available in the counseling office
Please note that students may not be at the high school on our school wide field trip day, unless they are a junior taking the ACT. There will be no supervision of other students available.
Student athletes who miss school for the full day will not be allowed to participate in practice or competitions without a doctor’s note or proof of appointment. The field trip is considered a day of school and attendance will be treated accordingly.
