Congratulations to Kathryn, Maxwell, Michael, Carley, Elias, Neena, Jena, and Morgan for getting selected to perform in the UW-Eau Claire Honor Band! Today they will rehearse and perform alongside students from nearly 100 different schools in the area, participate in a master class with college faculty members on their specific instrument, and wrap the evening up with a performance in the brand new, state of the art, Pablo Center at the Confluence!

The Hammond Community Library and the Department of Workforce development have teamed up to provide a great opportunity for middle and high school students as well as adults. Each Thursday from 4-5 pm for the next 2 weeks, there will be workshops held at the library which focus on different employability skills. The workshops are absolutely free of charge with snacks provided. Tonight's topic will be on Team Building Skills.

Kaitlyn Holmgren represented Wisconsin at Global Youth Institute held in conjunction with the World Food Prize this past weekend. She and approximately 150 other youth from across the U.S. and abroad heard from global leaders on the critical need to combat the growing hunger problem around the world. In addition, Holmgren is eligible to apply for research based internships and scholarships. In order to be eligible Holmgren was required to write and present a paper on a malnutrition issue. With the fall sports season upon us, we wanted to remind everyone that all #sccspirit football games & all home volleyball matches will be streamed. Cross country will not as our broadcaster isn’t as fast as our students! Our goal as always will be to bring you all playoff games.
All sports will be streamed on YouTube Live via the SCC YouTube channel available at youtube.com/stcroixcentralschooldistrict . Streams should show up near the top of the channel page. Fall sports are fast approaching! Athletes, don’t slow down on your training! BFS sessions are still going on 6:00am, 7:30, 9, and 6pm at the HS.

Student Game Workers Needed:
We are looking for students to work games for the middle school, C team and JV levels for the 2018-19 sports season. Workers are needed to run the clock and do the book for volleyball and basketball games, run the chains for football and assist with various events for cross country and track.
The hourly pay rate is $10.50 for high school level games and $7.25 for middle school games. You must be at least 14 years old to work.

The Central St. Croix Blue 12U softball team won 1st place at the state qualifiers this past weekend. With that, they have a spot to play in the Northern Nationals tournament in Eagan July 19-22.
