Welcome to St. Croix Central Schools

Self-Report Donation Form

St. Croix Central appreciates the outpouring of support we have received from our parents, staff, community members and businesses and surrounding communities.  We are definitely moving  "Forward Together".

  Elementary Information

4K Information (Current & Future)

Attention current SCC 4Kids Parents - due to not meeting DPI-mandated instructional hours, SCC 4Kids WILL be in session on Friday, May 10th.  Thank you for your understanding.

Attention parents of SCC 4Kids class of 2013-2014 - We are keeping our fingers crossed that most of the registration materials we have already recieved can be salvaged.  We are working on cleaning and copying the records.  If there is anything that we cannot save we will contact you personally.  If you have not yet turned in your child's registration paperwork, please submit it to:  St. Croix Central High School at 1751 Broadway Street in Hammond.  If you have a birth certificate to show us, please wait until we contact you.  We originally stated we would have site assignnments mailed to you at the beginning of June.  At this time we are not sure that we will make this deadline, but we will do our best to be as close as possible.  Kim Gunderson and Jen Olson are only able to check e-mails periodically and do not have phones at this time.  Please send urgent questions only to:  kgunderson@scc.k12.wi.us or jolson@scc.k12.wi.us.  We appreciate your patience and understanding as we move "Forward Together."

Donations

The outpouring of support has been overwhelming! Thanks to everyone who has donated time and supplies and/or have helped in so many other ways. Panther Camp got off to a great start on our first day! We believe we have all the school supplies and books needed for the remainder of the year.  We are not asking for donations; however if you still would like to donate, a check would probably be the most helpful.   You can send a check to the District Office at P.O. Box 118, Hammond, WI 54015.   WESTconsin Credit Union has setup an account on the school’s behalf.  You many send your donation to any WESTconsin Credit Union.  This website link will assist you with the correct address for each location.  http://westconsincu.org/AboutUs/contactus.aspx

Thanks so much!

Panther Camp Page

We have set up a page under the Elementary for Panther Camp. This page will have resources and information from administration, teachers, and the school counselor on it. It will also have pictures and video from activities at Panther Camp. Pictures are added as taken (nearly daily).

Reminder about student pictures: According to board policy 100.300 the district retains the right to publish pictures of students unless a parent or guardian notifies the district. If you would prefer your child's picture not be published on the school's website, please fill out this form.

Elementary School Damage

On May 3rd, staff at the elementary were allowed to enter the building to retrieve personal effects from their classrooms and survey the damage. No educational materials were retrieved at this time. To see a small selection of pictures of the damage click here.  There is also a few short video clips posted here.

UPDATE - Pictures were taken on May 14 of the clean-up effort so far. They can be viewed in the same web album as above.

Location of Panther Camp and Basic Bus Info

Click HERE for the location of camp and basic bus information.

All students who are normally dropped off at the elementary school in the afternoon will be dropped off at the Roberts Park Building located on Park Street in Roberts. This includes the 5:15 Shuttle from Hammond to Roberts.

New WKCE Score Levels

As part of Wisconsin’s overall school accountability system change, Wisconsin raised the WKCE scores needed for students to reach the basic, proficient, and advanced performance levels in reading and math.  Because of these changes, WKCE results will show a significant decline in the number of students considered to be “proficient” or “advanced.”  This does NOT reflect a change in the abilities of students, teachers, or schools.  It only reflects the higher standards we have for our students and schools.  The new score levels (cut scores) can be viewed HERE.

The new college and career readiness proficiency levels are based on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), often called the “Nation’s Report Card.”  The adoption of NAEP performance standards is part of a statewide plan to continue to improve school performance and part of a national movement to prepare all American high school graduates to compete in a global society.

Craft Volunteers Needed at Panther Camp

VOLUNTEERS for Craft Stick Frame needed. Could be Fathers Day gift with a photo, drawing or poem inside. Little prep involved...just need donations of craft/popsicle sticks assuming they have lots of glue at camp. Mosaic pieces could be cut from greeting cards, event cards you get in mail, paint chips, etc. or students could just color sticks with markers!
If anyone is interested in getting everything together for these, let me know which grade/s and I can coordinate with the teachers and come along to introduce and help with the project.

VOLUNTEERS FOR ANOTHER PROJECT?? Small, inexpensive, fairly simple, and fitting...cute, little, woodticks!!!! Would be good for any grade, although K and 1 would need lots of helpers. If anyone is interested in getting everything together for these, let me know which grade/s and I can coordinate with the teachers and come along to introduce and help with the project.

Resident & Business Broadband Internet Survey

Link Wisconsin

Click HERE t o take the survey.

The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC-W) are partnering to promote a residential and business broadband demand survey open now through the end May, 2013.   This is part of the larger LinkWisconsin project (http://www.link.wisconsin.gov).

By encouraging parents to complete this survey we hope that we can begin to address the digital divide many of our students throughout the state face and bring the broadband needed in our schools and classrooms.

The better the response, the better data DPI and PSC has to encourage public and/or private entities to develop a plan for fast, inexpensive broadband across all of Wisconsin!

New School Report Cards Released
October 23, 2012
By: David Bradley

The wait is over. As of Monday, October the 22nd every school in Wisconsin has received its new report card from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI). I’m proud to share with you that St. Croix Central is one of only 2 of the 39 districts in CESA 11 that had each of its schools rated in the “Exceeds Expectations” category on the new report card. (Pepin is the other district.)

I can’t image a school staff that has worked harder the past few years to help all students learn, grow and excel! And one of the most exciting things about this fact is that the new school report cards are based on the results of the WKCE (Wisconsin Knowledge Concepts Examination) testing that was completed in November of 2009, 2010 and 2011. All of the great work done last school year by the staff and students won’t show up until the next report cards are released.
