Elementary Virtual Ed

Calvert School's comprehensive homeschool curriculum uses a blend of tradition and innovation, and is available for ages PreK through 8th grade. For over a century, Calvert School has believed that every child deserves a quality education regardless of geography or situation.  Whether you are new to homeschooling, or a seasoned homeschool veteran, Calvert School can work with you to tailor a homeschool program to fit your child's needs.  Calvert is taught at home by families who seek to combine the greatest flexibility in their homeschool program with the high standards inherent in the Calvert Curriculum.  Even though this curriculum is taught at home, SCC's Virtual Education Coordinator, Stephani Owens, will be there to support parents every step of the way, with any questions they may have.  To find out more about Calvert, check out their website link below.

You may also customize a curriculum that you think better suites the needs of your child.  This option allows parents to choose multiple companies to provide curriculum.  Parents will be asked to supply the name of the curriculum to the Virtual Education Coordinator for approval.  Each student will receive a certain dollar amount as set by the district, that will be used to purchase the curriculum.  Curriculum cannot be religous based. If you are choosing to customize a curriculum, please contact Stephani for proper paperwork.

Returnable Forms
If you have decided that homeschooling is for you, please fill out all forms and return to the any of the SCC school offices, Attention: Stephani Owens. You may also email for Stephani's home address.
Informational Forms
Thursday Folder Information/Activities
Each Thursday students in grades K-4 take home a Thursday folder that contains information on a number of items, including upcoming concerts, field trips, reminders of scheduled late starts, notices of signup information for youth activities, etc. We hope that families find it helpful to find copies of the contents of the Thursday folders on our website.
